The Ford Escape enters the 2025 model year without any major changes. Most models will offer a tire repair kit instead of a spare tire, which is something to consider if you're concerned about the possibility that a tire might not be repair-able on the open road. The new Escape will also have a power-adjustable driver's seat that's now optional for the Active trim. A power liftgate will be an available upgrade for the bottom two trim levels and a 360-degree camera will be an optional addition for all models.
The Ford Escape continues to offer the same lineup of powertrain choices for the 2025 model year. The menu starts with a 181-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that can take you from zero to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds. You can move up to an available 2.0-liter turbo-four with 250 horsepower that can accelerate to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. The three-cylinder engine is rated for 27 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway and the four-cylinder is also fuel efficient at 23 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.
Both hybrid and plug-in hybrid variations are available with the pure hybrid creating 192 horsepower and fuel economy of about 42 MPG in the city and 36 MPG on Galesburg and Nashville highways. The plug-in hybrid powertrain generates 210 horsepower and gives you about 37 miles of all-electric driving range.
The exterior of the 2025 Ford Escape comes with a bold grille and an understated rear spoiler. The cabin is nicely styled and has plenty of room for passengers in both the front and rear. Front seats are cushioned well and you'll find plenty of headroom and legroom for adults. The back seats are comfortable and even have room for taller passengers. Textured cloth seat upholstery is standard and the Platinum model has standard faux-leather seating surfaces.
